Reaching out and looking into services for the first time can be difficult, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction, and the Canadian Executive Council on Addictions created this guide for finding quality addiction care in Canada. This guide provides information about the different treatment options available and questions you should ask when considering a treatment program.

British Columbia Online Directory- Services and Resources Available

Use this website to search for information and services related to addictions, alcohol, and other substances in your area. You can refine your search by location, type of treatment, and age group. The Programs tab will give you a list of services, a description, and their contact information. You can also use the Map tab to explore the services in your area.

BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS)

This website provides a range of specialized mental health and substance use services, education, and health promotion for adults across the province.

Under the Our Services tab, the website lists provincial integrated mental health and addiction programs including:

  • Heartwood Centre for Women
  • Rehabilitation & Recovery Program
  • Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addiction (formely Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction)

Licensed Treatment and Recovery Services in British Columbia + Registered Supportive Recovery Assisted Living Services in British Columbia

The British Columbia Centre on Substance Use compiled two lists for licensed substance use facilities and registered supportive recovery residences in British Columbia. The lists provide the services contact information, address, website, and eligibility criteria. Published March 2021.
